ManagementTheranostics Heath has recruited a distinguished Executive Team of researchers, doctors and health care executives. Our Board of Managers boasts a broad background of leadership within the business community. Dr. James N. Cooper – Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Cooper is currently Director of Research Development and Professor in the Life Sciences Division at GMU. He was previously Assistant Dean and Professor of Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital and was Inova Health Systems Medical Director of Research and Education. During his tenure, multiple specialties within his department were cited in US News and World Reports annual list of top hospital programs. Dr. Cooper has over 25 years of experience in clinical research and has presented scientific papers and authored multiple publications. Dr. Lance Liotta – Founder, Vice President of Research and Development Dr. Petricoin is currently Co-Director for the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine at GMU. He also is Professor at the Department of Molecular and Microbiology at GMU. Dr. Petricoin has over 15 years experience in medical research and development, specifically with the FDA. Other positions include Co-Director of FDA-NCI Clinical Proteomics Program and Co-Director, FDA-NCI Tissue Proteomics Initiative. While at the FDA, Dr. Petricoin, was a principal author on key FDA guidance documents including the Pharmacogenomics Guidance Document, chaired a number of BLA and IND drugs and biologics applications, and was a lead inspector on a number of pharmaceutical companies manufacturing sites. Dr. Petricoin holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Maryland. Dr. Petricoin currently has 172 peer reviewed publications. Debra A. Hope, Ph.D., MBA – Director of Business Development, Pharmaceutical Debra Hope brings nearly 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry to her role as Director of Business Development, Pharmaceutical at Theranostics Health. For the last 7 years she has focused on productizing and commercializing biotech products and services for startup and early-stage companies. As Director of Business Development at RedPath Integrated Pathology she was responsible for creating and implementing a marketing plan for a cancer diagnostic service that targeted oncologists and pathologists and achieved greater than 60 % national market penetration in the first year. Prior to that, as Director of Cellular Bioinformatics at Cellomics, she was responsible for both product and market development of a web-deployed biological knowledge management tool for the pharmaceutical and academic markets. Her career has been devoted to the study of gene and protein networks, databases of gene and protein networks and currently, business models involving gene and protein networks. Dr. Gabriela Lavezzari – Laboratory Director Prior to joining Theranostics Health, Dr. Lavezzari was the Network Laboratory Manager and Senior Laboratory Specialist at Social & Scientific Systems, where she facilitated management and operations of several domestic and international clinical laboratories that are part of the ACTG (AIDS Clinical Trial Group) Network. She has extensive experience and expertise in procedural and quality compliance. Previously, she spent 5 years as a research fellow at the NIH Division of Neurological disorders and stroke, (NINDS) and was a visiting fellow at Georgetown University Department of Radiation Medicine. Dr. Lavezzari earned her PhD in Biology from the University of Milano, Italy, with a focus on Pharmacology and her MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. She has several publications in the field of neurobiology and has been invited to present internationally. Mrs. Blair serves as Secretary and Director of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, Co-Chair of the Harvard Aid Initiative International Advisory Council and is on the Board of Scripps Research Institute. She is Vice president and Director Emeritus of the Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation and worked closely with Mrs. Lasker on the Conquest of Cancer, the National High Blood Pressure Campaign, and the Lasker Awards. She is a member of a variety of organizations focused on biomedical research and advocacy, including the Harvard Medical School Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and the New York Center for Autism. Previously, she served on the Board of the American Cancer Society and the Breast Cancer Task force of the National Cancer Institute, and the Rockefeller University Council. Mrs. Blair’s professional career has included consultancies with Novartis and HealthCare Ventures, LLC, as well as a variety of life sciences companies such as Genetic Therapy Inc, MedImmune, Human Genome Sciences, Biotransplant, PharmAthene, Ingenuity and Tetralogics among others. |
